Ethan Dickerson of Paradise, Kansas, died Monday morning, September 28, 2026, after a two-vehicle collision in rural northwest Russell County.
The fatal crash occurred at approximately 9:21 a.m. on 180th Street, about one mile south of Fairview Road, according to information released by the Russell County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash involved a 2012 Ford F-350 pickup driven by Dickerson and a 2012 Peterbilt semi-truck operated by Barry Maupin of Lucas, Kansas.
According to investigators, the Ford pickup was traveling northbound on 180th Street while the Peterbilt was traveling southbound when the two vehicles collided.
Emergency crews found Dickerson inside the Ford pickup when they arrived. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Maupin was transported from the area in a private vehicle. Authorities have not released further information about the extent of his injuries.
