William Blake Driskell Obituary, Death – Baylor University Graduate Dies at 22

William “Blake” Driskell, a beloved son, brother, cousin, and friend, died on September 23, 2026, at the age of 22. Born November 7, 2003, in Waco, Texas, Blake was deeply loved by his parents, Robyn and Will Driskell, and by a wide circle of family members and friends.

Blake grew up in Waco surrounded by family, faith, and close relationships. Those who knew him remembered him as someone who brought happiness and warmth to the people around him.

Education and Career

Blake graduated from Midway High School in 2022 before earning his degree from Baylor University in 2026. He was continuing his education at Baylor while pursuing a Master of Accountancy.

His family had recently celebrated another important milestone with him after he received a full-time job offer from Ernst & Young in Houston.

Remembering Blake Driskell

Sports were a major part of Blake’s life. He was a natural athlete who enjoyed playing basketball and golf and passionately followed his favorite teams, including the Baylor Bears, Houston Astros, and Houston Texans.

He rarely missed an opportunity to attend Houston Astros playoff or World Series games. Among his cherished sports memories were attending Baylor’s men’s basketball national championship and the Big 12 Football Championship in 2021.

At Baylor, Blake was an active member of Kappa Sigma fraternity, where he formed lasting friendships with his pledge class and fraternity brothers.

His fraternity brothers remembered him as a loyal friend, hardworking person, and someone who could always be counted on. They also recalled his quick wit, perfectly timed one-liners, distinctive food preferences of chicken tenders, fries, and Skittles, and his exceptional athletic ability.

Above all, Blake was remembered for his dependability and loyalty. His quiet personality and willingness to be there for the people he cared about made him a valued friend and fraternity brother.

Family

Blake was a devoted older brother to his sister, Rachel, and shared a particularly close bond with his cousins Marshall, Matthew, and Hailey, who also attended Baylor.

He is survived by his parents, Robyn and Will Driskell; his sister, Rachel; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, including Michael and Kara McDuffie, Marshall and Megan McDuffie, Matthew McDuffie, Stacie Crowson, Hailey Crowson, Susie and Greg Bowers, Paul and Kate Bowers, and Greg and Hannah Bowers.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clint and Susan Bateman and Mattie Jean and Bill Driskell, as well as his aunt, Nancy Driskell.

Memorial Service

A memorial service honoring Blake’s life will be held Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at 4 p.m. at Baylor University’s Hurd Welcome Center.

In his memory, the Blake Driskell Endowed Scholarship has been established at Baylor University.

Blake’s family, friends, fraternity brothers, classmates, and the Baylor community will remember a young man whose loyalty, humor, athletic spirit, and devotion to the people he loved left a lasting impression.
