Marissa Kasarov Obituary, Death – Granger Marketing Professional Dies at 41

Marissa Kasarov, 41, of Granger, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at IU University Hospital in Indianapolis, leaving her family, friends and community mourning a woman remembered for her strength, compassion and generosity.

Marissa was born on April 25, 1985, in Arlington, Texas, to Gary and Karen (Dillard) Snell. In August 2012, she married Alexander Kasarov in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Marissa was a talented marketing professional who served as Vice President and Creative Director at SunnySide Social Media. Throughout both her career and personal life, she was known for giving her time and energy generously to the people around her.

Those who knew Marissa remembered her as fierce, intelligent, passionate and deeply empathetic. She had a remarkable determination and strength, along with a willingness to go to extraordinary lengths for the people she loved.

Her generosity extended beyond her family and friends. Marissa regularly gave her time, money and belongings to people in need and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

She also had a deep compassion for animals. Throughout her life, she rescued numerous animals and could not turn away from an animal that needed care.

Marissa’s family and friends will remember the lasting impact she made through her kindness, determination and willingness to help others. Her absence will be deeply felt by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Family and Loved Ones

Marissa is survived by her loving husband, Alexander “Alex” Kasarov, and their three children, Silas, Mia and Lundi Kasarov.

She is also survived by her parents, Gary and Karen Snell, and her sister, Kary Moon and her husband Derek.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Thomas H. and Alice Ada Snell, and A.C. and Mary Dillard.

Funeral Service

A service honoring Marissa Kasarov’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at Temple Beth-El, 13260 S.R. 23, Granger, Indiana 46530.

Rabbi Shoshana Kaminsky will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.

Marissa will be lovingly remembered by her family, friends, colleagues and the many people and animals whose lives were touched by her compassion and generosity.
